Winter trip in South Korea

Winter trip in South Korea

South Korea is a very surprising country and Seoul is probably its best representative. This megacity hosts 10 million people, is the 3rd biggest city in the world and allows you to discover both water and earth sea aspects thanks to Han river and Namsan or Bagaksan mount. Seoul is also the place where we spend 5 days for a business trip in the Gangnam-gu neighborhood, the most luxurious area of that city where you can find all 5-star brands like Vuitton, Gucci, Cartier… as well as the best Korea hotels. We stayed at the Intercontinental COEX located in the world trade center which was very convenient both for business and tourism purposes: a superb temple is at few steps away from the hotel – Bongeunsa Temple – while Gyeongbokgung palace and N Seoul Tower are at a 20-min ride by taxi and you can easily walk to a set of fashion malls for shopping. You have to be careful at Seoul with the traffic-jam ; this super-huge city can be completely blocked at strategy week day times and the unique road from the airport is also a sensitive point.

Regarding the journey, the best is to choose a local company like Asiana or Korea airline ; indeed only local companies have a 24-hour counter available while all others are opened only for check-in few hours before flights departure. That’s not convenient at all, especially if you have to arrive at the airport many hours before boarding hoping to spend time at business lounge and you finally learn that it is not possible… Well, if you don’t this kind of matter you can take for sure Qatar Airways or Thai Airways, both of them offer good rates with awarded business and first class cabins.

Trip from November 23th to 28th 2013
