Cathay Pacific First & Business Class Lounge, Bangkok Airport

Cathay Pacific First & Business Class Lounge, Bangkok Airport

Cathay Pacific started to build a worldwide network of branded airport lounges, in order to give premium customers the same luxury experience wherever they travel. Let’s see how it is at Bangkok airport.

Located at Level 3 in the Concourse G Departure Hall of Bangkok airport, this Cathay Pacific First & Business Class lounge adopts the airline’s new lounge design template that has already been employed at lounges in Haneda Airport in Tokyo, and Manila.

Designed by Studioilse, the London-based design studio led by Ilse Crawford, the aim is to bring to life Cathay Pacific’s new brand design ethos, creating an environment that helps passengers feel relaxed, engaging the senses and focusing on wellbeing as a core principle.

Relaxing

It’s clearly visible that designer furniture and lighting have been selected for practicality and comfort. Bespoke chairs and side tables with in-built lamps and sockets are placed by the windows where passengers can enjoy the view of the airport runway and beyond. That’s really enjoyable!

Relaxing area

With 680sqm of space, lounge will never be crowded and thanks to the multiple areas – bar, buffet, noodle bar – it’s easy to spend 2 or 3 hours before a flight. It’s now a destination in itself, a place to visit!

Finally, Reception Desk provides 3 individual workstations with dual operating system iMacs and printers, while free Wi-Fi access is also available throughout the lounge.

Dining

Thanks to the famous Cathay Pacific Noodle Bar, lounge guests can enjoy a true meal before onboarding. Menu is quite extensive and food preparation, really good. I especially recommend the vegetable dumplings!

On the other hand, an international buffet selection of cold dishes is available – changed for breakfast, lunch and dinner – with fresh food and cookies. It would have been even better to have some hot dishes, but it’s still pretty nice. You should try out their mini-burger!

Conclusion

The overall feeling of the lounge is of a domestic space, more like a living room than an airline lounge; definitely a great place to relax before a short-haul to Hong Kong. My only regret is the lack of dedicated area for First Class passengers, even for short flights it would have been appreciable to get a special attention, especially since the lounge is opened not only to Business and First Class travelers but also to oneworld premium card holders..

Access to Cathay Pacific First & Business Class lounge is granted for Cathay Pacific and oneworld carrier First Class passengers + 1 guest, and Cathay Business Class passengers.
