St Regis Singapore, great place for epicureans

St Regis Singapore, great place for epicureans
Places offering complete and perfect luxury travel experience for dining, spa, art, living and sense of hospitality are rare. St Regis Singapore is one of them, brilliantly achieving the goal of any epicurean traveler: live wonderful moments.

Located in Tanglin area, St Regis Singapore is actually at the beginning of the famous Orchard Road and its several luxury shopping centers which is very convenient to discover the city by walk, or even by MRT thanks to the close-by Orchard station. The atmosphere that emerges from that hotel is casual chic and the overall services offered – Art collection, Spa, dining, room – really deserve a five-star rate. If you wish to escape the overcrowded institutions of Singapore and keep the same level of luxury, this is definitely the place to be.

Living

St Regis Singapore – Reception

St Regis Singapore is a good surprise in term of living: despite it is a quite large property – 299 rooms – you can actually feel like in a boutique hotel thanks to the plenty of cozy and quiet places. The Art gallery for instance, both on ground and first floors, are just perfect for a serene Art tour ; by the way, truly impressed by the quality of the onsite art collection, which offers real Picasso, Miro, Chagall or also Georgette Chen (Asian artist) masterpieces.

Spa lovers will also find a very peaceful place at Remède Spa, located on basement with outdoor sunloungers, which offers access to a fully equipped wet area – one for men, one for women – including huge jacuzzi, steam & dry rooms and relaxation seats ; I spent time there during both weekend and week day, I was actually alone. Did I mention how delightful is their Jade Hot Stone Massage?

Room

St Regis Singapore – Executive Deluxe Room

I stayed in an Executive Deluxe Room – the first category of room – that has a very efficient layout, like a junior suite with a modern-colonial interior design and contemporary furnitures ; love the several wooden touches and the full marble bathroom with its standalone bathtub. Layout is very well arranged, maybe one of the best I have seen for that kind of room, especially for the dressing perfectly integrated with cupboards. Then for sure everything is provided in term of complimentary coffee (Nespresso), tea, mineral water and – wonderful – bathroom amenities (Remède Spa).

Dining

Dining was a very pleasant part of our epicurean experience at St Regis Singapore. First with buffet breakfast at brasserie Les Saveurs on ground floor, great selection in a French-inspired interior design never crowded even at peak time, and second (mostly) with a dinner at Labrezza, a fine trattoria-style Italian restaurant where Chef Luca Moioli proposes to guests an amazing tasting menu. Here, you feel like in a fine-dining family restaurant of a small boutique hotel, that’s really impressive and for sure unexpected – in a good way. And finally I enjoyed a must-do degustation of Chili Bloody Mary at Astor Bar that I highly recommend for anyone who needs a rejuvenation :)

Level of exigency

Starwood hospitality brand provides international training to its staff so you can get quite a good service quality in their residences, especially in luxury ones like St Regis hotels. We are definitely above a business hotel level and it matches the proposed rate range ; butler service available for packing/unpacking/any request 24h and included in all type of rooms really worth the value for instance. Then all single departments such as housekeeping, room service, concierge were faultless during our stay, a special thanks to the friendly Remede Spa staff!
